Pahalgam valley is located at the confluence of Lidder River and the streams originating from serene Sheshnag Lake. The valley is located 96 km from Srinagar, the state capital of Jammu and Kashmir in Anantnag district. At an altitude of 2,130 m above sea level, this lush green valley is most sought by travelers seeking relaxation and leisure.

This meadow is located at an altitude of 2,438 m above the sea level. Snow clad mountains and lusting pine forests add the beauty of this meadow. Aru Valley
Aru Valley is a small yet self-sufficient scenic village located 15 km from Pahalgam. The drive up to the village is alluring too. The location of the village among the grasslands, make this place a tourist delight. It is reachable by walking along a mountain path. The village also serves as the start point for trekking to Kolahoi glacier. Another long trek for the serious trekker is to Sonmarg, which can be covered in 3 days! Besides, the valley is also known to be a good site for camping. Instead of taking the regular pony ride it is recommended that tourists explore the surrounding valley on foot to get a full sense of its beauty.

Betaab Valley
Located on the way to Chandanwari, the valley was named Betaab after the Bollywood movie by the same name! Earlier known as Hajan Valley, after the release of the movie, it was renamed as major part of the movie was shot here.

Trekking
Pahalgam serves as the base camp for many trekkers. Mountaineering routes and trekking trails are all challenging for the adventurous travelers. Day treks and hikes are usual tourist activity in this region.
Kolahoi Glacier which goes via Aru is one of the most popular trekking routes. Trek from Pahalgam to Chandanwari and to Sheshnag lake, trek from Sonamarg to Pahalgam are all really worth experiencing. Best time to trek in Pahalgam is from April to June.

By Air
The nearest airport to Pahalgam is at Srinagar. It is placed at a distance of about 95 km from Pahalgam. Srinagar is air connected to Delhi with regular flight services. Taxi services are available at the airport and taxi fare from Srinagar.

Pahalgam By Train
The nearest major railhead is at Jammu, which is 255 km away. One can reach Pahalgam from railway station by taxis or buses.

By Road
Pahlagam is connected by Jammu and Kashmir state owned road transport corporation buses. Pahalgam is well connected to Srinagar by buses. Special luxurious buses will also be available from Jammu and Srinagar to Pahalgam.
